With school starting for many kids this week, we present you something from the “Out of the Mouths of Babes” file.

Leslie McCollom is a preschool teacher at the New Day School in Portland, and she was just blown away by the things her kids would say.

Stuff like:

“I only have magic powers for things that I want to do.”

“Are people made of meat?”

“Bigger kids like me are grouchy about pirates.”

Not long ago, Leslie started writing down these little bon mots.  They eventually became a Twitter stream, and now … a book.
