Erroneous signs have led to confusion over whether the Sellwood Bridge would be open Monday.

It’s not. It’s closed until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

But Multnomah County spokesman Mike Pullen said people will see plenty of changes when it reopens, “There are two traffic signals that are going to be activated for the first time. And there’s never been one on the east end of the bridge. So folks will have to get used to that. And that will also make it easier for bicyclists and pedestrians to cross Tacoma Street, which is pretty busy,” he said.

At the west end of the bridge, commuters will also be able to turn south to Lake Oswego for the first time in three years.  And people will get a glimpse of the new bridge art. About half of the new statues will be installed. The rest will go up later this fall.
