I’m headed to Bend today for some exciting Oregon Public Broadcasting events. Last time I was in town, I happened to have a meeting at Thump Coffee the day the city’s first bike corral was installed in front of the shop.

I thought that was cool, so I put it on the blog. And guess what. The next day, The Bend Bulletin had a story about the new bike racks on the front page of the paper. Do I know how to spot news or what?

So, wanna help me get my next scoop? My OPB colleagues and I will be hanging out at 10 below from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight. That’s the bar on the basement floor of the Oxford Hotel, 10 NW Minnesota. If you’re in the neighborhood, come and chat about the outdoor and environment issues you’re following. I’d love to see you there.

Also, I’ll be Tweeting about the journey #OPBinBend. Can’t wait to see the snow-capped Cascades!
