OPB’s Morning Edition host Geoff Norcross found these little gems today: Three infographics on the best and worst of the environment in each of the 50 states.

  1. Where does each state excel/not excel? (Oregon: Most Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design buildings/Highest adult asthma rate)
  2. A picture of the United States of Awesome. (Oregon: Most breastfed babies)
  3. And the United States of Shame. (Oregon: Homeless population)

There are some really interesting tidbits spread over the charts. Washington has low infant mortality but high bestiality, and the most organic apples but also the most invasive snails.
