Work has resumed on Oregon’s section of the Ruby Pipeline. The Ruby is El Paso Corp.’s $3-billion, 675-mile, five-state-traversing natural gas transmission project.

Once complete, it will deliver up to 1.5 billion cubic feet of gas per day in a 42-inch-diameter pipe reaching from Opal, Wyo., to Malin, Ore. That’s enough pipeline capacity to export all of Wyoming’s natural gas and more.

OPB’s Medford reporter Amelia Templeton was in Malin yesterday and took the photos in the slide show above. Apparently it’s quite common these days for the folks in Malin to see trucks carrying parts of the pipeline through town. The Herald and News reports the project developer is hoping to finish up by August.
