Wind energy headquarters powered by solar panels
Portland Mayor Sam Adams announced today that SolarWorld, a German solar manufacturer that has headquarters and a manufacturing plant in Hillsboro, will be supplying the solar array for the future headquarters of Vestas, a Danish wind turbine manufacturer and developer with a headquarters in Portland. SolarWorld now employs 1,000 at Hillsboro plant
SolarWorld has reached its goal of employing 1,000 people at its Hillsboro manufacturing plant by 2011 and overhauling its operations in Camarillo, Calif.
