Apparently the tsunami following Japan’s 8.9 magnitude earthquake did do some damage on the Oregon coast after all. This video illustrates reports that the waves swept boats and dock parts out of Brookings harbor and sent them crashing into the jetties.

OPB’s Rob Manning just got a report from the Curry County sheriff, who said 10 to 12 boats are either sunk or missing, 60 percent of the Brookings harbor docks have been destroyed, and that tsunami surges have continued throughout the day today until about an hour ago.
