Portland Business Journal reports that the Heathman Hotel in downtown Portland was sold to LaSalle Hotel Properties, based in Bethesda, Maryland.
Members of the executive team have reportedly been let go following the sale, and other staff also decided to quit. Details of the sale weren’t immediately available.
The Heathman’s former owners, London-based Taylor-Clark, Inc., announced that its hotels in Portland and Seattle were on the market in September. LaSalle Hotel Properties owns 44 hotels nationwide.
The Portland hotel originally opened in 1927 as the New Heathman Hotel. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The building underwent a $3.8 million renovation in 2010.
