In the wake of the announcement of Dr. Jack Ramsay’s death, social media is buzzing with condolences, memories and hashtags to remember the Hall of Famer and former Portland Trail Blazers coach.

Ramsay coached in the NBA for 20 seasons, leading the Blazers to their championship title in 1977. ESPN reports that Ramsay “has long been an icon in Portland, remembered as much for his distinctive 1970s fashion sense as for the city’s only NBA title.” Following his NBA coaching career, Ramsay became a basketball analyst for ESPN.

Many tweets include the hashtags #RipCityForever, #SpiritOf77 and #DrJackRamsay.

If the Blazers win, they’ll advance to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2000.
