Police say they located the body of missing Dundee mother Jennifer Huston. Her body was found near her SUV along a road in a remote area of Yamhill County.

Huston’s 1999 dark green Lexus LX-470 is parked on the side of road near Highway 18 near Sheridan.

A resident in the area saw the vehicle Tuesday morning and alerted the Newberg-Dundee Police Department at 10:30 a.m. Yamhill County patrol deputies responded to the scene and were able to confirm that the vehicle is Huston’s. They found her body a short distance from the SUV.

Police are now calling this an active death investigation. Officials say that there is nothing at this point to indicate foul play and the public is not in danger.

As OPB previously reported, Huston, 38, was first reported missing July 25 after she didn’t come home from running errands the evening before.

From surveillance video, police determined that Huston went to Oregon First Community Credit Union in Newberg shortly before 6 p.m. on July 24, withdrawing less than $100. She then went to a nearby Circle K gas station and spent less than $40 on fuel before going to Rite Aid and purchasing Gatorade, trail mix and a non-lethal dose of sleeping pills.

Huston’s cellphone received a text message from her mother at 6:22 p.m., but Huston never replied. Her phone turned off at 6:25 p.m.

Huston’s husband, Kallen Huston, said this was out of character for his wife, who he described as a loving mother to their two sons, ages 2 and 6.

The case drew national interest and people reported sightings in the San Juan Islands, in California and as far away as Michigan.

Newberg-Dundee police will hold a press conference at 4 p.m. in Newberg.
