You could say the news of the week was all about the West Coast feeling smug: You call that an earthquake?  No hurricanes here!  We’ve got Congressional candidates campaigning already, so there!

Candidates for the Oregon Congressional District One special election came together on the coast this weekend.  Meanwhile, the largest public employee union approved a state contract that includes notable concessions. Their adversary, initiative activist Bill Sizemore was released from jail, in part because of an apparent error in his sentence.

This morning, to review these developments, our political guys, Bill and Jeff, have joined us. Bill Lunch is OPB’s Political Analyst; he’s at the OSU Media Center. Jeff Mapes is the senior political reporter and blogger for The Oregonian.
