Part of Series:

University of Oregon president Richard Lariviere was very publicly fired by the state board of higher education this week.  For Dr. Lariviere, it’s an opportunity to go back to the classroom.

For the board and the Governor, it’s an opportunity to assess how Oregon’s public universities are governed.

Up the road from Eugene, First Congressional District Democratic nominee Suzanne Bonamici won the endorsement of the Independent Party.

And water officials in Portland were relieved to learn that they apparently won’t have to build a new treatment plant for Portland’s main water supply.

To review these and related developments, our political guys, Bill and Jeff have joined us, as they do most Fridays at this time. Bill Lunch is OPB’s Political Analyst. Jeff Mapes is the senior political reporter and blogger for The Oregonian.
