Portland political watchers were watching the mayoral race this week, and they got a definite “maybe.”

Portland Police Chief Mike Reese said he’s considering a run for the office, something he said he would not do as late as last Monday.

Oregon Congressman Peter DeFazio taps into the income gap anger by proposing a new tax on certain financial transactions.

And yet another vacancy will open up on the Oregon Supreme Court next year.

Every Friday morning we turn our political guys loose on the week’s news.  Jeff Mapes is the senior political reporter for the Oregonian.  OPB Political Analyst Bill Lunch is away this week, so Chris Lehman gamely agreed to join the fray with us Friday morning from the State Capitol in Salem.
