The national political campaigns are spending a lot of time and money on the swing states, among which Oregon, Washington and Idaho are not. But there were some political developments here that are worth another look.

The Director of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission announced his retirement, bringing a controversial tenure to an end.

Jeff Mapes is the senior political reporter for The Oregonian.
