The men who occupy leadership of their respective parties in Oregon made the political news this week.

John Rosman / OPB

Oregon’s Republican party elected a new chair. Art Robinson is a former congressional nominee in Oregon’s 4th District. He was elected to his new post almost immediately after the previous chair, Suzanne Gallagher, resigned rather than face a recall.

Gov. John Kitzhaber, the most powerful Democrat in the state, cleared some bills off his desk, which set political watchers to wondering about his relationship with the Legislature.

Also, nuclear waste is back in the news, such as that at the Hanford Reservation in Washington.

Which is the most radioactive story? Leave it to our political guys to decide.

OPB’s political analyst, Bill Lunch, joined Oregonian political reporter Christian Gaston to discuss these issues with Geoff Norcross. Click “play” above to listen in.
