Jay Ward is an Oregonian living in Northeast Portland.

A few years ago, Ward’s neighbor built a pond on their property line and regional frogs soon made the water their home as well.

As part of our “Sounds of Summer”series, Ward sent in some sound of the frogs.

OPB’s Kathryn Boyd-Batstone spoke with University of Oregon Amphibians and Reptiles of Oregon professor Tom Titus who identified the frogs to be the Pacific Chorus Frog.
