Young voters could play a major role in this presidential election.

But what issues are most important to those under the age of 30? 

OPB’s Amanda Peacher has been speaking with young people across the state about how their experience has shaped their views.

After working with older farm hands for his summer job, Salome Castillo from Hood River says it’s important to protect  social security. Kira Mocan in La Pine is about to become a U.S. Marine, so defense is an important issue for her.

In Eugene, Briana Burns cares about health care and Hasten Burdick says growing up among teachers taught him the importance of education. Edward Zuriaga-Lopez in Woodburn also says education is important for the career he wants to have in the police force.
