Watch: Small Skies Debuts Trippy New Video For 'Faces'

July has been a busy month for Small Skies, the dark electro-pop trio fronted by Portlander Benjamin Tyler. After making a splash with the single “Candy” on the 2017 edition of the annual PDX Pop Now! compilation, the band announced the forthcoming release of a new album called “Build.” And to top it all off, Wednesday Small Skies dropped a video for the song “Faces” that you can watch exclusively here at opbmusic.

Filmed and directed in Nehalem, Oregon, by Mondegreen (the creative duo of Dustin and Ash Dybvig), the video for “Faces” has a decidedly spooky and dystopian vibe that pairs well with the track’s themes of social isolation. According to songwriter Tyler, he wrote the song in response to the current political and cultural environment “where your social media feed becomes more real than the outside world around you.”

Small Skies plays an album release show at Mississippi Studios in Portland on Sept. 5 along with Double Plus Good and Small Million.
