As NPR Music collected its nominations for Top 10 Public Radio Studio Sessions of 2013, we turned to one of our very favorite opbmusic sessions ever: Cody ChesnuTT’s performance at OPB with members of the PSU Orchestra, in February of 2013. The memorable performance of “Chips Down” was an easy pick to make, both for the way it sounded and the way it came together. Sheet music parts arrived from the UK, the orchestra arrived at OPB to rehearse, and when ChesnuTT arrived, he dropped his head and listened for a time without saying anything. He was clearly moved. Here again is the video of “Chips Down,” and the link to see the rest of NPR Music’s selections for their top-10 list.
