Part of Series:

The Minus Five in-studio, 7-9-09

Recording engineer: Steven Kray, with technical assistance from Bill Ward

Scott McCaughey brings the latest incarnation of his Minus 5 into our studios for songs from the wonderfully homespun and Portland-centric new release, Killingsworth. The Decemberists, Little Sue, Ezra Holbrook and Willy Vlautin are just a few of the recognizable Stumptown names who lend a hand throughout. The result is easily the most roots-leaning work we’ve heard from the band eliciting comparisons to Sweetheart of the Rodeo-era Bryds and even the Grateful Dead in a place or two. Little Sue (guitar/vocals), Ezra Holbrook (drums/vocals), Tucker Jackson (pedal steel) and Peter Buck (bass) joined Scott McCaughey (vocal/ guitar) for our session.
