In one of our favorite sessions of the year, Other Lives plays a set of shimmering, cinematic songs from their new release, Tamer Animals at OPB. The band from Stillwater, OK began as an instrumental group, and you can hear echoes of both the minimalist textures of Philip Glass and film scores of Ennio Morricone in the music (and seemingly some of the wide sky landscape of the southwest too). Scroll down for the audio, where you’ll find the interview with frontman Jesse Tabish — he talks with opbmusic DJ Matt Casebeer.

Other Lives will be back in Oregon December 8th at Mississippi Studios. They’ll tour with Radiohead in 2012.
