Part of Series:

Tu Fawning in-studio, 8-20-10

Recording engineer: Steven Kray, with assistance from Bill Ward

Currently on tour with Menomena, the Portland quartet stops by to play songs from their dark and lovely debut Hearts On Hold, out soon on their own Provenance label. We talk to them about the decision to begin a label for the record and the unlikely combination of elements of ‘30s jazz and dark, modern pop one can pick out in their music (“Minnie the Moocher” meets Joy Division?).

Following six weeks on the road for the Menomena tour, Tu Fawning plays a hometown release show at the Doug Fir on October 29th. Look for the new album out officially October 5th.
