Part of Series:

Xavier Rudd in-studio @ OPB, 9-3-08. While in Portland for Music Fest Northwest, Xavier Rudd and percussionist Dave Tolley performed this acoustic set in OPB’s studios. Rudd played both slide guitar and a custom-made guitar/sitar, the cellorangi, with Tolley playing udu and snare drums. Three of the songs in the set come from Rudd’s new record, Dark Shades of Blue, which has a louder and “thicker” sound as Rudd puts it. He talks about making the new record at home in Australia, playing the Yiraki (didgeridoo), film music projects and more.

Recording engineer: Steven Kray, with assistance from Randy Layton.
