Sean Flinn has been a fixture on the Portland scene since 2010. He played as a sideman for Y La Bamba and Nick Jaina. His own band featured a rotating cast of Portland musicians including Rachel Blumberg, Sallie Ford and Laura Gibson.  While Flinn’s songwriting grew increasingly confident, his band coalesced around the lineup of Adam Mack, Arthur C. Lee, and Richard Bennett. The group’s agile musicianship perfectly complements Flinn’s bright pop songwriting.

Sean Flinn & The Royal We release their new album, The Lost Weekend, on July 15th. We invited the band to OPB for a studio session to play this set of new songs. They’re joined by trumpet players Josh Thomas and John Whaley. Watch the videos and download mp3s from the session below.

You can catch Sean Flinn & The Royal We in a free show at the Savoy Tavern tomorrow night (July 10th). After playing shows in Los Angeles and New York in July, they’ll be back in Oregon at Eagle Point August 8th, Hood River August 15th, and play their hometown release show August 21st at Doug Fir.  Check their website for updates.
