Portland rock band Summer Cannibals is a memorable live band with its high energy and acidic on-stage attitude, something that stands out in a city dominated by earnest folk-rock acts. They’re currently on tour behind a new album, Full of It. It’s their first release on legendary local label Kill Rock Stars. This is also their first touring season with a new guitarist, after Marc Swart left the group earlier this year.
Frontwoman Jessica Boudreaux, bassist Jenny Logan, drummer Devon Shirley, and new guitarist Harrison Rapp joined us in the studio to play from their new release, and talk with State of Wonder producer Aaron Scott about the new songs, new label, and the seeming dissonance between the band’s lyrics and attitude on stage.
