The Morning Benders in-studio, 10-19-10

Recording engineer: Steven Kray, with technical assistance from Ted Cutler

Frontman Chris Chu drops by to play solo versions of songs from this year’s outstanding Big Echo, stripping away the layers to reveal the origins of songs often built around a core of pop sweetness. He also talks about the band’s busy year of touring (totaling 10 months by the time they play New Year’s Eve in Australia), covering Dylan, and working with Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor, who co-produced the new album.
