OPB News Wins 2014 Edward R. Murrow Awards in Northwest Region

Awards Honor Electronic Journalism Excellence 


Oregon Public Broadcasting announces that OPB News won three 2014 Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).

Awards honor outstanding achievements in electronic journalism produced by radio, television and online news organizations in 14 regions around the world. In Region One, OPB was recognized in three categories:

Investigative Reporting - Large Market Radio:With No Officers To Respond To 911 Calls, Josephine Co. Considers Tax Levy

News Series - Large Market Radio:Gun Stories

News Documentary - Large Market Television:Glacier Caves

“These awards recognize our commitment to in-depth journalism and engaging multimedia content,” said Morgan Holm, senior vice president and chief content officer at OPB. “The stories that are recognized here represent extraordinary effort in the field by talented reporters, producers, videographers and photographers who climbed a mountain, sought out unheard voices and searched public records repeatedly to inform and educate our audience.”

Regional recipients are automatically entered in the national Edward R. Murrow Awards competition; the ceremony is scheduled in October. A full list of 2014 winners is listed at www.rtdna.org.
