- Dance West is a dance troupe made up of the best dancers at Beaverton's Arts & Communication High School. The teenage dancers tour the state, performing for other schools. They do a concert and also a lecture/demonstration so they're not just learning, they're teaching.

- The nonprofit Puddlejumper Press is more than a way for Westridge Elementary in Lake Oswego to make a little extra cash. The press makes T-shirts, jewelry and cards based on student art projects, and the kids couldn't be prouder.
