Dave Frishberg is known as a jazz pianist and the accompanionist for top Portland jazz vocalist Rebecca Gilgore. But Dave is also a composer and a concert performer who sings on stage in other towns, but refuses to sing in Portland.

Duck Stamp Contest

Oregon kids are drawing ducks to enter in a national contest. With the slogan "Conservation through the arts," the federal Junior Duck Stamp Program takes entries from all over the country. The winning duck stamp is sold as a collector's item for $5, with the money going back into conservation education.

Maude Kerns Art Center

Headquartered in a historic church, the Maude Kerns Art Center in Eugene was founded in 1950. The chief benefactress was Maude Kerns, a local artist who has a piece in the Guggenheim Museum. The center offers classes and workshops for kids and adults, as well as a pottery studio and a gallery.
