Kows for Kids
Kows for Kids is a fundraising project sponsored by Portland businesses. One hundred pure white, life-size fiberglass cows are distributed to local artists to be decorated. Art Beat follows three artists as they make the cows their own. Once the cows are sold, proceeds go to children's charities.

Saddle Maker and Artist Duff Severe
Oregon lost a true legend when Duff Severe died in February 2004 at the age of 84. Duff founded the now famous Severe Brothers Saddles in Pendleton. The Smithsonian honored Duff as a National Fellow "for changing saddle making from a craft to an art." Visit Duff in his log home, filled with his amazing work; his miniature saddles with all the fine details. View this tribute to Duff Severe, one of Oregon's finest treasures.
