Movie Theater Organs

Old-time movie theater organs were designed to play along with silent movies. They were huge beasts with thousands of pipes and other musical instruments. We found some of the few remaining dinosaurs of the Jazz Age and the curious characters who keep them making music.

Musician Fran Gray

Fran Gray's strong, smoky voice is perfect for the passionate songs she writes and her hard-to-characterize guitar playing. Part pop, part blues, maybe a little country, she's getting more well known, although she still has her day job with the Forest Service.
