Ivory Sculptor Erhard Gross
The raw material of Erhard Gross' carvings comes from the tusks of woolly mammoths and mastodons. He uses these remnants of the Ice Age to create create delicate flowers and detailed animals, sometimes arranged in realistic vignettes. Erhard caught "ivory fever" the first time he ever touched it, while he was on a trip to Alaska to study native art.
