When Fritz Richmond passed away in 2005, Oregon lost one of the greatest washtub bass and jug players of all time. Fritz has been featured on dozens of albums and became famous nation-wide, playing with John Sebastian, Tom Rush and the Jim Kweskin Jug Band.

Wood Sculptor Phillip Clausen

He's not a wood carver. Philip Clausen is a tree sculptor; transforming gnarled logs into art and furniture on a gigantic scale. Travelers stop by his roadside shop near Coquille to marvel at six foot tall mushrooms and massive tree truck tables, while he works on a commission for McMenamin's Rock Creek Tavern.
