- When Fritz Richmond in 2005, we lost probably the greatest washtub bass and jug player ever. Fritz has been featured on dozens of albums and became famous nation-wide, playing with John Sebastion, Tom Rush & The Kweskin Jug Band. In 2006, the Waterfront Blues Festival will pay tribute to Fritz with a special performance.

- This award-winning luthier lives in Monroe building violins, violas and cellos. Jon Franke has only been doing this for eight years, but he's already won the most prestigious prize of the Violin Makers Association of Arizona International.

- He's not a wood carver. Philip Clausen is a tree sculptor; transforming gnarled logs into art and furniture on a gigantic scale. Travelers stop by his roadside shop to marvel at 6 foot tall mushrooms and massive tree truck tables, while he works on a commission for McMenamin's new Rock Creek Tavern.
