Now they work together, teaching kids about music and composing and performing together, including an ambitious program called Classical Crossover, performed with the Oregon Symphony.

Adopted as a child, Patrece Canoy decided to learn a dying art, and continues to study basket weaving with American Indian basket weavers. She also makes paper from the pulp left from weaving materials.
