Composer Thomas Svoboda

While he taught at Portland State University, classical musician Thomas Svobodahe composed prolifically, winning national and international awards. Since retiring, he has been even more prolific. We follow the progress of his ensemble, Trio Spectrum, as they prepare for a world premiere of his new piece for piano, flute and clarinet.

Trail Band

The eight-piece Trail Band has been playing their old-fashioned brass and string arrangements together for years. They formed to recreate music from the 1800s in honor of the Oregon Trail, and now have seven albums to their credit.
