Kevin Kohler’s pen drawings using tiny dots to create images have to be seen to be believed. By day, Kohler did graphic arts and illustration for the state Parks Department. By night, he slaved over his incredibly detailed pen and ink dot drawings. One painting alone took him four years to complete. Now, he’s branching out into other media, and trying to help make Dallas, Oregon an artists’ mecca.

Raised as a storyteller, African artist Baba Wague uses clay as his canvas and animals to illustrate his stories. His colorful art is a blend of native Malian folklore and his own unique style.

Dave Matteson and Sondra Seeger’s quaint little farmhouse just outside Westfall is filled with miniature paintings, leatherwork and musical instruments. He specializes in saddles and riding gear and she paints a little bit of everything, but her favorite art form is creating miniatures.
