American Marquetry Society
Dating back to the time of Egyptian pharaohs, marquetry is an ancient art. Woodworkers Gerry Laddusaw, Gary Meyers, and Larry Schmidt demonstrate this ancient craft of creating designs by cutting out and overlaying different kinds of wood veneers. The three men belong to the Columbia River chapter of the American Marquetry Society and their goal is to keep the craft alive by teaching it to others.

He studied book binding with some of the world’s most well-known practitioners, honing his ideas for his visual stories and the book format.
