Clog Dancer Rachel Johnson
Rachel Johnson grew up in the tiny eastern town of Vale, Oregon, and is now the town’s only clog dancing instructor. After developing an interest in the traditional Appalachian dance form in college, she returned home to teach. Her students range from small children to adults. The dancing is based on a shuffle step, and makes a lot of noise because the dancers wear loose taps on their shoes and stomp in time to bluegrass music.

Circuit Bending
Circuit bending is the creative short-circuiting of devices such as low voltage, battery-powered guitar effects, children's toys and small synthesizers to create new musical instruments and sound generators. Emphasizing spontaneity and randomness, the techniques of circuit bending have been commonly associated with noise music, though many more conventional contemporary musicians have been known to experiment with these "bent" instruments.
