Karen Miller of Corvallis, a former marine biologist from Oregon State University, now practices the Japanese art of katazome. She creates original stencils, works with rice paste, and handcrafts fabrics, wall hangings and quilts.

Aaron Lamb and Bill Meyer at the Oregon Symphony
Aaron Meyer was trained in classical violin. Bill Lamb was a Portland songwriter who had some success in Nashville. But they both had given up music, until they found each other. Now they work together, teaching kids about music and composing and performing together, including an ambitious program called Classical Crossover, performed with the Oregon Symphony.

Painter Andrew Pate
Working with watercolors and well as pencil and charcoal drawings, artist Andrew Pate is inspired by his surroundings when he's at home in the Columbia Gorge. He does lots of landscapes but says his heart really belongs to images of people, and he likes to sit sketching in his local coffee shop.
