Clothing designer Anne Beard dreams up and sews together unique western wear. She uses silk from Thailand and India as well as the more traditional gaberdine, and embroiders or appliques patterns of stars, horseshoes, cowgirls and buffalo herself. Beard grew up on a ranch and her husband's family supplies bulls to rodeos, and she says ideas come to her easily. But one of her creations can take weeks or even months to put together.
