Thara Memory is well known for playing a smoking jazz trumpet at clubs around town. He grew up listening to all kinds of music, and as an adult enrolled at Marylhurst University to get a degree in conducting. Art Beat attends as he conducts the premiere of his original symphony, "Middle Passage," about the slave trade.
