Rainy Lehrman makes furniture. Her background is in the craft of furniture-making, in utility and fine joinery. The pieces she's making for this show at the Beppu Wiarda Gallery, however, move away from craft.
As a sculptor in residence at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, her furniture has become more abstract. More animated as she finds new ways to interpret her materials.
