Using a paintbrush, Catharine Newell draws human figures using powdered glass on a glass surface. Her finished portraits look like crumpled pieces of paper. She's moved to this unique style from her background in stained glass. She's inspired by people-watching and she takes photos of people from afar on the street, who take on a life of their own in the studio.
