Portland Art Center
Web
Gavin Shettler left the commercial gallery world to help found the Portland Art Center. It is a part of a new arts neighborhood, based around NW 5th and Couch in Old Town Portland. The building which houses the PAC is actually 5 connected buildings which are being rebuilt as studios and rehearsal spaces. The Portland Art Center is a nonprofit exhibition space and resource center for the contemporary arts. Its mission is to cultivate informative and innovative interactions between the art world and the public. Portland Art Center serves as a support network and information hub for the contemporary arts in Portland, Oregon and the Northwest. The dynamic programming offers unique opportunities to contemporary artists whose work is outside the commercial gallery system.
