Oregon Public Broadcasting

Playwrite empowers marginalized youth through a carefully structured process of creating art. A two-week playwriting workshop matches young people with coaches from the performing arts community. Each student writes a play based on his or her own experiences. At the end of the workshop, professional actors perform a staged reading of the plays before a live audience.
