Founded by German immigrants in 1856, Oregon's Aurora Colony was a utopian society with a strong musical tradition. The colony's band played original compositions and were much in demand throughout the region until 1921, when they disbanded. Close to 100 years later, many of the original scores, hand-written in blackberry juice, were discovered in a basement. Now musicians at the Old Aurora Colony Museum bring it back to life.
