Now mostly seen in museums or private collections, ledger art involves often somewhat primitive drawings by members of the Plains Tribes such as the Sioux and the Cheyenne. Traditionally, they generally depict everyday life around them in the 1800's. Frank Salcido is a modern ledger artist right here in Portland who has his own modern take on the art form.
