Steens Mountains in Winter
We visit Steens Mountain in eastern Oregon, an isolated, rugged landscape that attracts only the truly adventurous. Carved out by ancient glaciers, Steens rises 10,000 ft. above sea level, with steep canyon walls covered in 12ft of snow. Visitors on snowmobiles and x-country skis can expect to find beauty and solitude here, especially in winter, with thousands of acres of quiet, snow covered hills to explore.

The Halsey's Wildlife Habitat
Laura and Warren Halsey, owners of Raindance Ranch created a diverse native habitat on this 250 acre farm. The property had been heavily farmed for over a century. Through their own hard work, the Halseys with the support of government agencies and others were able to blend the elements of commercial farming with the presence of oak savannas, forests and wet lands. See the results of their efforts in the return of native plants and wildlife.

Rodeo Clowns
They may look like they're clowning around, but the rodeo clown's job is the riskiest job in rodeo. They spend more time putting on protective gear than they do painting their faces, because there's nothing between a clown and a bucking bull, and cowboys depend on them for their lives.
