Volcanic Debris Flow
Oregon's volcanoes have a history of catastrophic eruptions. One effect of an eruption is a debris flow, which is like a flash flood of ash and debris as thick as wet cement. Since the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980, scientists have been studying this phenomenon more closely.
