Pheasants are not native to North American, but hunters are fond of them. Ringneck pheasants used to roam the Willamette Valley, but changing farm and forest conditions have reduced their numbers. The Fish and Game Department is testing a theory that Sichuan pheasants from China will fare better and generate more income from hunting licenses.
